If you or someone you know has been scammed and would like to share the story, please contact us. We believe that your story may educate and help others by showing them that they’re not alone. These stories are important and we will handle them with care and sensitivity.
Types of Stories We Publish
We are looking for romance scam related stories that seek to be:
- Open and honest account of your own experience with romance scammers. For example, if you or someone you know has been scammed and lost their heart and money to a scammer, we’d like to publish and share your story.
- If you have been acting as a scam baiter to uncover romance scammers and their tactics, we’d like you to share your message.
- If you have been treated badly or punished by social media platforms for reporting scams, we’d like to be your voice.
- We also publish romance scam related information and advice.
Unsent Letters
If you want to rant about your thoughts and how being scammed made you feel but never had a chance to express those feelings to your own scammer, we’d like you to write an unsent letter to your scammer. Unsent letters are published anonymously.
How to Submit Your Story Anonymously
If you’d like to submit your story or your unsent letter anonymously, just send us your story to [email protected]. Please note that your story will be edited, and you will be given a name other than your real one before we publish it. If you want your story to be published anonymously, all you need to do is mention that you’d like to be published anonymously.
Editing Process
Once your story is accepted, it will be edited by us. Here’s what you can expect from us during the editing process:
• We may do line edits for clarity, grammatical correctness, and flow
• We may change the structure to make your writing read better
• We may edit the title
We will also add images to your story with Fake Love logo on.
